Book excerpt: Paper 1: The results are reported of the effect of 20 inorganic chemicals in varying amounts on the consistency properties of an expansive soil sample from Poona. Paper 2: A simple apparatus for the determination of the resistivity of soil systems is described. Correlations of the resistivity, density, sodium chloride content, and moisture content of various soils are shown. Paper 3: The results of tests are presented that were made to determine the effects of two levels of neutron-gamma irradiation on the physico-chemical properties of three fine-grained soils.
