The primary intent of this volume, which is a shortened and updated version of The Archaeology of Jordan published by Sheffield Academic Press in 2001, is to provide an introductory textbook for students of archaeology in general and Levantine and Near Eastern Archaeology in particular as well as a companion volume for interested amateurs and tourists.
