Book excerpt: Dogs and horses are the usual animals thought of in Animal Assisted Therapy (AAT), but there are several other animals used, including rabbits. Much information can be readily found when doing research on canine and equine therapy animals, but not much on the many other animals used, including rabbits. This was an exploratory study to find and label some of the attributes of rabbits as therapy animals and how they are used as therapy animals. It is hoped that this study may provide some foundational basis for further research on rabbits as therapy animals and help understand them in that capacity.
