Book excerpt: The Central Vehicle Wash Facility (CVWF) concept was developed by the U.S. Army Construction Engineering Research Laboratory (USA-CERL) to save washing time, conserve potable water, and reduce pollution from tactical vehicle cleaning operations. CVWFs have been operating sucessfully at several installations for the past 8 years. This report presents an analysis of usage data for the CVWF's at Fort Polk, LA, Fort Lewis, WA, and Yakima Firing Center, WA. These wash facilities were sized according to the users's estimates of washing requirements. The comparison between actual usage of these facilities and the design estimates will be helpful in planning and designing new CVWF's. Keywords: Charts, Tables data. (KR).
