Book excerpt: The first run of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) has strongly challenged our view of new physics by tightly constraining the most investigated scenarios such as super- symmetry. If new physics is within the reach of future experiments, discovering it will require devising new data analysis techniques and considering new approaches to open issues such as the fine-tuning problem. This thesis discusses how to elaborate new search strategies using signature-based --bottom-up-- approaches. It focuses in particular on multijet LHC signatures, the fine-tuning problem, dark matter detection and explaining non-standards Higgs couplings.
