Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Response time is an important factor in determining the quality of service provided by Emergency Medical Services (EMS). The focus of "Road Traffic Collisions Analysis Using GIS Technology" is an analysis of local road traffic collisions and fire stations to reveal areas with potential need for response time improvement. This study aimed to access response time from fire stations to collision hot spots, and generates strategies to improve the response time providing services in a minimum amount of time. ESRI Network Analyst tools were used to find the minimum average travel cost values from existing and potential fire stations to collisions within high collision areas. In an attempt to understand the spatial distribution of road traffic collisions, ESRI Spatial Statistics tools were utilized to analyze the patterns and provide a visual representation of statistically significant clustering of road traffic collisions. These methods can aid in finding an ideal fire station location to improve the response time in the study area.
