He served in various editorial capacities with Guideposts, Logos Journal, Charisma and Ministries Today magazines. He authored over 45 books included some for well-known public figures such as Kathryn Kuhlman, Corrie ten Boom, Pat Robertson, and others. Buckingham was a leading figure in the Charismatic Movement of the '70s and '80s. He was senior pastor of the interdenominational Tabernacle Church in Melbourne, FL.
