Book excerpt: This report seeks to enhance understanding around Global Citizenship Education (GCE) and its implications for educational content, pedagogy and practice. It attempts to provide common perspectives and to clarify some of the contested aspects of GCE. The report features examples of good practices and existing approaches to GCE in different settings, while highlighting priority elements for the future agenda. The publication is the result of an extensive process of research, consultation, dialogue and information exchange with education experts, policy- makers, researchers, practitioners, representatives of youth, the civil society, media and other stakeholders from all over the world. It draws extensively on the foundational work of the two key UNESCO events: the Technical Consultation on Global Citizenship Education (Seoul, September 2013) and the first UNESCO Forum on Global Citizenship Education (Bangkok, December 2013).
