Book excerpt: Excerpt from Mebane Thoroughfare Plan A thoroughfare plan for the Mebane area was cooperatively developed by the Community Planning Division, North Carolina Department of Conservation and Development, and the Planning and Research Department, North Carolina State Highway Commis sion in 1966. This plan with some minor changes was formally approved by the Mebane Board of Commissioners on May 27, 1970 and the Highway Commission on June 25, 1970. As a result of continuing traffic problems, the Town requested an overall review of the plan in 1976. This report documents the reanalysis and recommended revised plan resulting from the review.
