The series Alphabet: Consonants (21 book set) has all of the hard consonants, including the hard sound of y, with the sound at the beginning. However, since the letter x is typically found at the end of words, the words in this book end with the letter x. Each short vowel gets a book in the series Alphabet: Short Vowels (5 book set). The vowel-consonant-e pattern (aka "Bossy e" or "Magic e") and the two vowel sounds of the letter y are in the series Long Vowels (7 book set). The series Consonant Teams (6 book set) has books for the digraphs ch, ck, sh, tch, and wh. In the Long Vowel Teams (12 book set), the phonograms of ai, ay, ee, ea /ē/, eigh, ie /ē/, ie/ī/, igh, oa, ow /ō/, ue, and ui are taught.
