In den vergangenen Jahren wurden diese Be-trachtungen bei Procter & Gamble nur in Berücksichtigung der Anzahl der belegten Palettenstellplätze durchgeführt. Im Zuge eines stärkeren Fokus auf Nachhaltigkeit stellte sich heraus, dass diese Betrachtungsweise nicht optimal ist und Fahrzeuge trotzdem Großteils nur zur Hälfte genutzt werden, betrachtet man das Volumen des Laderaumes. Daher gründete das Unternehmen 2010 das westeuropäische Cube Fill-Netzwerk um gemeinsam an Verbesserungen zu arbeiten, Fahrzeuge besser auszulasten und dabei CO2-Ausstoss und Transportkosten zu reduzieren. Auf Erklärungen zu den Themen Wertschöpfungskette und Distribution folgen theoretische Einschränkungen sowie mögliche Lösungen zur Verbesserung der Auslastung hinsichtlich Volumen. Anschließend werden diese theoretischen Ansätze auf ihre Umsetzbarkeit bei Procter & Gamble geprüft.*****This Master Thesis is handling the question how the available space in a vehicle can better be used for customer shipments. Over the last years Procter & Gamble was only considering the capacity utilization on the basis of floor positions. A higher focus on sustainability led to detailed reflection with the outcome that most of the trucks are only half-full regarding volume. As a result, the Western European cube fill network was founded to jointly work on improvement to better fill the vehicle and thereby reduce CO2 emission as well as transportation costs. The Master Thesis starts with a definition of the terms supply chain and distribution as well as theoretical constraints and solutions to improve the capacity utilizations. Afterwards those constraints and solutions are analyzed on their feasibility for Procter & Gamble.
