Production of leaded gasoline dropped by percent to 989 million gallons. Production of diesel and heating oil also fell between 1979 and 1982 to 1 1 million gallons, a drop of percent. Cooperative refineries received only percent of their total crude oil needs through cooperative crude oil sources. Foreign spot and contract purchases provided another percent. Domestic spot purchases represented 1 percent of total, domestic short-term contracts percent, and domestic long-term contracts 29 percent. Nearly the entire volume of crude received by cooperative refineries was subject to cutoff in the event of a supply disruption.
