Book excerpt: The production of [phi] mesons from, central Si + Au collisions has been measured by E859 at the BNL-AGS by selecting events with identified K[sup +]K[sup [minus]] pairs. The values for the mass and width of the [phi] obtained from the invariant mass of the kaon pairs are consistent with those of the Particle Data Book. Preliminary results for the invariant 1/2[pi]m[sub T] d[sup 2]n/dm[sub T]dy distribution and dN/dy are presented.
