PSE & G provided the initial start-up funding, and the fund was then maintained by contributions for the company and from customers. Also called the "Citizens Energy Project" and "Project Volunteer for Energy," this work was accomplished only through the cooperation between Public Service Electric & Gas Company and the Salvation Army.
